Version 2026-09-draft-1
Privacy
This is a service for children, so the short version matters most: we collect as little as we can, we never sell any of it, and you can take it all away whenever you like.
What we collect about a parent
- Your email address and name, so you can sign in and we can reach you.
- Your password, stored only as a hash. Nobody here can read it.
- The date you accepted this notice, and which version you accepted.
What we collect about a child
- The display name you give them, which does not have to be their real name.
- Their birth year — never a full date of birth.
- A username and password, if you set them up to sign in on their own device.
- The code and blocks they write, and whether each exercise passed.
- How long they spend on each lesson, and when they were working.
We do not collect a child’s email address, phone number, photograph or location, and there is nowhere in the product to enter one.
What we never do
- We do not sell or rent anything about your family to anybody.
- We do not show advertising, so nothing about your child is used to target it.
- We do not let a child’s work be seen by other families.
Where it is kept
In a database we run, and nowhere else. Code your child writes is executed in a throwaway sandbox with no network access, which is destroyed immediately afterwards.
Getting it back, or getting rid of it
Sign in and open Your data. You can download everything we hold as one file, including every piece of code your child has written. You can also erase the whole account, which takes effect immediately.
Two things survive an erasure, and it is fair that you know before you decide. Payment records are kept as our accounting record, with the link to your family removed. Certificates already issued keep working, so that anyone your child sent a code to can still check it — they keep the name printed on them and nothing else.
Children’s rights
A child under 13 has an account only because a parent created it. A parent can see everything about their own child, change it, or remove it. A child cannot reach billing, another child’s work, or anything belonging to their parent.
Getting in touch
Write to us and we will answer. If you want your data or your account gone and something is not working, say so and we will do it by hand.
Note for whoever publishes this: this draft describes the software accurately but has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Before launch it needs a named data controller, a contact address, a retention period for payment records under Nigerian tax law, and a review against the NDPA. Bump the version above when the wording changes — the consent a parent gave is recorded against it.
